Sarah Scharf is a yoga teacher and teacher trainer particularly interested in using movement practice as an avenue to create resilience, freedom, creativity and self-knowledge to improve quality of life.
Her experience as a massage therapist informs her perspective on anatomy and adjustments. Her theatrical background allows her to use performative skills to enhance her ability to connect with groups both large and small. Originally from California, she came to London for post-graduate theatre study and holds an MFA in Lecoq-based Devised Physical Theatre.
Her yoga teaching is sequenced to give a sense of rejuvenation, whether from strong vinyasa flow or peaceful restorative styles. Attention to detail and safe alignment are key elements of her teaching, as well as mindfulness and adapting poses for various levels and individuals. She leads international retreats, mentors new teachers, is a senior assistant to Judith Lasater and has taught for YogaCampus, The Life Centre and Triyoga among other studios.
Yoga is one of my favourite systems for achieving balance in the body, quiet space in the mind and bringing us to a place of connection with ourselves/our source.
