She is founder of The Yoga & Psyche Method™ and has been teaching workshops and trainings at major retreat centers, online, and in yoga studios and universities throughout the world since 1997. For over a decade, Dr. Caplan was an adjunct professor and developed large public programs at The California Institute of Integral Studies, and taught at Naropa University, John F. Kennedy University, and Sophia University.
Dr. Caplan’s psychological training spans over 20 years and incorporates traditional and alternative approaches to psychotherapy. She currently works with individuals, couples, families, and supervision of other psychotherapists, as well as consulting with spiritual groups in crisis.
Most mistakes made by gurus come from deep wounds in childhood, or are cultural or familial, so it’s not essentially bad people doing these horrible things, it’s wounded, usually charismatic, brilliant, intelligent people who from their wound need to make themselves big and larger than life.
