Overview
Culture-clashes and major disruptions seem to be natural properties of the global political landscape. Rarely do the involved parties step back to have a deeper look at the hidden patterns and value-systems at play, let alone design them consciously in order to achieve a positive outcome for all.
Spiral Dynamics helps us to better understand cultural change in all its relevant aspects and intervene more skillfully, informed by an integral perspective. Don Beck proposes a “stratified democracy” approach as a form of integral political design in order to stitch together our wounded world.
The danger is that we will simply project our own affluent world views on to people who are struggling with different Life Conditions, who are not as “enlightened” as we are. Our efforts must be deep, broad, proactive and systemic.
