Emily Brett is a yoga teacher, specializing in teaching refugees and asylum-seekers recovering from atrocities like torture, sexual violence in conflict and human trafficking.
She founded UK charity OURMALA in 2011 to help refugees rebuild their lives and integrate in London. Emily has been been practicing yoga since 1998, has sat extended Vipassana meditation retreats in India and Europe and has taught yoga internationally. She has a 500 hour Teaching Diploma from the British Wheel of Yoga, training including Suicide Awareness by the Samaritans and Yoga for Post-Traumatic -Stress-Syndrome from The Minded Institute. Emily has an MA in Creative Writing, a background in security and human rights and she loves nature and the Arts.
