The Ashtanga yoga method is a dynamic yoga system designed to build strength and purify the body.

In addition to specific postures, students also use special practices known as breath, bandha and drishti, and practice in what is called a Mysore, or self practice shala.

Here, the Life Centre’s Ruth Westoby, herself a KPJAY authorised teacher, draws on her extensive knowledge of the system to give a series of all-level talks and mini-tutorials on these fundamental components, and explains fully how a Mysore practice works.
